Not strictly a Steely Dan Album because
Walter Becker is nowhere to be found in the credits, but
Larry Carlton,
Michael and
Randy Brecker and
many of the usual suspects are doing their bits in the studio. I
used to have this and Gaucho back to back on a cassette and they
go together seamlessly.
There is much humor and good natured cynicism in I.G.Y and the New
Frontier. Maxine is a beautiful love song rich with urban ennui
and The Goodbye look always me think of a Graham Green novel. I
just love this album.
